Slightly crazy writer and passionate educator for those who struggle
The Chasm deep and dark
The coolness hidden in it’s depths
Tries in vain to equalise
From the heat outside the Gorge
A footstep echos on stony bottom
A drip and algae
A fern clings to fragile existance
Hiding from the desert outside the Gorge
The sun it wins no battles
To light the bottom and the way
At most perpetual twilight
Preventing the mirages outside the Gorge
BEAUTIFUL! I love the visuals. Thank you very much.

It’s based on my memory of a place called Stanley Chasm in Central Australia. Thanks for the feedback.

yes…the contrast between the coolness inside, and the heat outside I can feel it. 🙂
