Daily Prompt: Inkling
Inkling is a wonderful word
It hints at ideas and kindling
It hints at deep emotions
I love the word
For it’s hidden depths
It’s intrigue
And it’s suspense
For when we only have an inkling
We really don’t have much of a clue.

Thanks Kerry. You are so right. Not only is Inkling a wonderful word, for us authors it’s often what leads us to an idea, a new plot line, a story or … a novel. Sometimes, as you said “we really don’t have much of a clue.” We don’t even realize the inkling is there, no less where it came from. That doesn’t make it any less important though. So, thanks for giving inklings their due and reminding us of how important and unique they are.

Thanks for your comment. I wasn’t really thinking in terms of a story line this morning, but an inkling holds well and truly true for that too.
