Very pleased with myself – even if I did promise to jog a second lap of the complex and then make it back to complete one lap and gave up. I thought I walked faster too – but according to my phone tracker it was 14 plus minutes per kilometre. I did stop to take some photos of birds which may have slowed my time down and there was the chatting to the dog – it didn’t look too friendly but its owner assured me it was. I didn’t stop and pat it. Dad has me paranoid about rabies now. (that’s the problem with being related to an animal vet 😊).
I was happy because after my walk, I did find an exercise program on YouTube and did it. I wasn’t going too; I was going to just write up my pathetic little walk of the slow time but then I started thinking that the last thing I wanted to do was write another post about not really exercising. That gave me enough incentive to get off my backside. I think I have done the workout before but I quite liked it. I worked up a sweat and kept moving for the 28 odd minutes of it.

It is worth a look. I liked the fact that there was an actual person who looked like me in it. (I am not skinny!). I also enjoyed the fact that the instructor was all about just keeping on moving even if you had to stop what they were doing. The presenter was very encouraging.
Around the 15-minute mark I started to fade which was annoying because he started picking up the intensity of the program after that, going from 30 second repetitions to 45 seconds. I stuck with it. Needless to say, I was quite happy when the cool down came. I guess that was the only problem with the program – the cool down. The presenter was very clear with instructions throughout but didn’t go into the stretches so I sort of limped along there until I realised what I was meant to be doing. Still, I’ll definitely do the program next cardio day. That could be as soon as tomorrow as I don’t yet have a key for the gym here and if I take my husband’s, he may not be able to get back in the gates (it’s a gated complex and at the moment the gates don’t work which is why I don’t have a key).
All in all, I am very happy to have sweated and got my heart pumping today. Feels like I am back into the swing of something, long may it last.
