I know I am late in posting, but I have been touring with visitors. Thus today, I am terming a rest day. I only managed a couple of slow kilometers wandering around the Rural Life Museum in Baton Rouge. The grounds are very nice, with plenty of historic buildings to poke your head into and thus to experience the joy of Louisiana’s rural history.
It was a cold day when we went. I would have hated to live in those buildings in the summer! And as for the coffins! Boy not sure I want to look at the long-dead face of any of my relatives. The early history of European settlement in Louisiana is interesting. There were so many favourites but the church with the devil and angel sides was definitely right up there.
